Form G-1145: Text and Email Notifications for USCIS Filings
Form G-1145 is a simple USCIS form that asks the lockbox to send a text message and/or email when a filing is accepted for processing. It can be useful for applicants who want early confirmation that a package was opened and accepted by USCIS.
G-1145 does not replace the official receipt notice. The paper or electronic receipt notice is still the document that shows the receipt number, received date, form type, and filing office. A G-1145 message also does not mean the case is approved, complete, or protected from future requests for evidence.
The form should usually be placed on top of the filing package. The contact information must be readable and current. Applicants should still keep delivery tracking, a copy of the full filing, fee proof, and every USCIS notice, because those records matter if a receipt is delayed or a deadline issue appears.
New Horizons Legal helps applicants prepare USCIS filing packages, confirm the correct fee and edition, track receipt notices, and respond when a package is rejected or a receipt does not arrive.
